A great discussion on climate change with the politics, science and solutions explained. The amount of carbon dioxide is increasing in the atmosphere. Just by taking oil out of the ground and converting it into usable fuels, which are burned in our cars, releases this trapped carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas and its increase will trap more heat, temperatures will rise and ice will melt. Sea level rise will occur but how fast is unknown but science is working hard to play catch up and gather more knowledge on the science of sea level rise. Climate change legislation contains costly tax components and either democrats or republicans want to pass legislation that will cost Americans. However, this cost must be viewed as insurance because if we do nothing disasters such as sea level rise will cost world societies much more than a simple carbon tax and cap and trade mechanisms. Renewable energy is necessary too and more money must be invested in renewables. Currently states like California, corporations like Apple and Sony, which recycle their electronics and individuals like you that are making the difference not President George W.
