hi,
This is an experienced 3d designer. I undoubtedly believe that this creature is a "nurbs" modelled and "mental ray" rendered object. The rock, creature lays on, is also modelled but mapped with a "shadow map" material. Therefore the compositing with the backround picture is very good. Head is a modified, nurbs type real human head model. The leave on the creature is too reflective and rigid for a real leave. It's also modelled. A good standard human skin material is used for the body. The artist is good...yet not perfect.

I hate to ruin everyones fun but that's a raccon. I grew up in the sticks and my father along with his brothers did plenty of raccoon hunting. I'm no stanger to the anatomy of one of those animals or many others that are commonly hunted all over the U.S. When you compare the skulls to the remains of " monster " they' re a perfect match unless you can't spot that the original " monster " was missing teeth which gave the appeance to someone who hasn't seen many dead animals to be that of a beak. Take away the fur and throw it in the water for an extended amount of time to look rubbery and you have a perfect match. That's no monster it's just some poor raccoon that died, somehow ended up in the water, and washed ashore... no mystery there.

The thing is it looks a lot like a Gargoyle and the one thing that makes no sense is that no Gov officials where even interested in it. Then the remains get stolen, well it smells fishy. Mabey the Gov knows what it is thats why they didnt show interest in it, so they could steal the remains of it and act like nothing ever happen.
