Who is really the elitist? America is built on communities. Democracy is built on participation via grassroots efforts. As a result, community organizing is central in allowing communities to participate in government and policy. Sara Palin’s and Rudy Giuliani’s belittling comments regarding community organizing mocks community organizers and democracy.
