Despite past lobbying efforts by the auto industry, President Obama wants to reverse the Bush Administration’s policies on auto emission standards.  The President issued a memorandum to “order the Environmental Protection Agency to reconsider the Bush administration’s past rejection of the California application, [but] while it stops short of flatly ordering the Bush decision reversed, the agency’s regulators are now widely expected to do so after completing a formal review process.” During today’s speech, President Obama embraced scientists and the American workforce as solutions to our dependency on foreign energy souces. The President also discussed the need to remedy climate change. However, the President criticized rigid ideaolody and rhetoric, which haven’t done anything to further or progress America.
