Someone should explain to Congresswoman Michele Bachmann that although carbon dioxide is “natural,” the anthropogenic release of carbon dioxide trapped within hydrocarbons isn’t a natural process. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, so an increase in atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide impacts the climate. Furthermore, just because something is “natural” that doesn’t mean it can’t be harmful.

She gave her opponent a nice bump in extra donors during the ’08 elections over the “Hardball with Chris Matthews” debacle, and she later said she made a “misstatement” in her frenzied attempt to manipulate reality. She should have lost, but she won—and now she is back to her new tricks (and it didn’t take her long). She stays in the press over controversial statements, since she loves to spew extremist babble on a regular basis. Nationally, she only appeals to that odd 20-25%.

Wow, not only does she get here science wrong, she can hardly put together a correctly constructed sentance. She states CO2 is 3% of the atmosphere, and emphasized that with a pie chart example. Fact: it is 0.03% of the atmosphere, 1/100 of what she stated. 300 PPM, not 3%! If it were 3%, animal blood chemistry would be quite different!
At least get your numbers right, Michelle. Does she have any science advisors? This is embarrassing.

HCl (gastric acid) is natural and it is inside your stomach, but you can’t drink HCl! you cant have too much gastric acid inside your body…!!
have you ever heard of H2CO3?! it’s an ACID, when it rains and you have too much CO2 in the atmosphere, you will have the “acid rain”!
There should be a law to ban stupid people from political positions! (my own country included)
