Maybe it’s a joke, a human creation…
I get that this is ‘unbelievable’ but for all the people saying “it’s obviously a sloth, aww that poor thing got stoned to death…*insert sad face* ” In all reality is that even possible? Think about it people, sloths are SLOW it’s not like they look like they’re gonna attack you! and they hardly leave their trees, especially if it’s to check out teenagers playing in a freakin’ creek! It just doesn’t make sense for it to be a sloth…
Keep in mind… teens say they were afraid it would attack them… teens would stone a dying puppy if the mood struck them. The entire story is suspicious. Sad for the creature regardless. If a stoning took it down I somehow doubt anyone was at risk for anything but maybe a rabies/tetanus shot. The cruelty we continue to praise as heroism in the world is appalling.
