Hi everyone that is not in the cattle industry i would like to inform you on a few key facts that would help you truly understand what practices we do to feed our cattle to usda standers.
!. The cattle industry does feed corn but to a certain extent they do not just poor corn for them to eat they have formulated it so they can develop and grow to market standers. They have feed formulated with roughage and other nutritional things so they grow and develop.
2. If you knew something about cattle you would know if you just feed corn to cattle you should know that it does cause this disease and problem with them not able to let the gas release. But there are other problems that occur when you do this is that your feed becomes too "hot" meaning no weight gain. so if you owned a business would you really want the wellbeing of your animals to have no weight gain. I think not!
3. Another misconception of the ignorate public that only read articles that have some facts but not a whole over view.
So you people need to educate yourself if your gonna base a opinion i want all of the people who think i am wrong to visit a feed lot who feeds "corn" cause i am the only one who i really think has a hands on experience about this topic thanks everyone educate themselves! :)

I am 6’2 215lbs, In the Military and I think i am in decent shape if I might add. But i do agree with you, I am disgusted at the way Americans are sitting by and not saying or doing anything about this. Is it because they are uninformed or is it because they just dont care, Who knows, but please dont put all americans in the same boat, thank you.</blockquote>

[...] This repulsive practice is just as bad as farmers feeding their cattle corn. Sure, it doesn’t sound as bad, but these poor animals’ digestive systems aren’t made for corn… they’re made to eat grass. But when fed corn they often become very sick and susceptible to many diseases. They are then treated with huge amounts of antibiotics to keep them alive and you guessed it…. those antibiotics get passed right along to all of us too. (This is only the start of the story, but you can read more here.)
This is disgusting. Between high-fructose corn syrup and this crap, it's no wonder Americans keep getting fatter and fatter and fatter... with a massive increase in Diabetes. Not to mention, it's like the American public continues to become dumber as time goes on... Besides being uneducated, their brains are malnourished. These farmers should be ashamed of themselves. They're disgraceful, as is their treatment of their livestock. And I think it's criminal against the American public.
