REFORESTATION: Peru sets goal to plant 40 million trees in 3 months

According to EcoWordly, “eucalyptus, pine, cypress, and pepper trees” will be planted and “an estimated 570,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide will be captured by the new trees each year.” Although this reforestation project is an environmental and social investment, cap-and-trade programs may turn Peru’s efforts into a monetary investment.
